Workshop Schedule & Materials

June 6, 7-10pm - Mozart Coronation Mass (K.317)

ABOUT THE SCORES
For the Mozart Coronation Mass, we are using the G. Schirmer edition – if you already have a score, please bring it and use it. You can purchase one from your local vendor or from an online vendor like SheetMusicPlus, for about $5 plus shipping. You can also print out your own free, public domain score (the same Schirmer edition) from IMSLP. Printing one at FedEx costs about $5 plus the hassle.

Otherwise, published scores will be available for you to borrow at the Summer Sing when you sign in, but you may practice with either the downloadable score or this pdf document. Review and rehearsal aides available on YouTube and on Cyberbass.

ABOUT THE SOLOS
We’ll need a solo quartet for nearly every movement, so there are lots of opportunities for experienced singers to participate. There will be only one quartet rehearsal beginning at 6:00 on Tuesday, June 6 – just an hour before the Sing begins. If you know the solo parts (as marked in the Schirmer score), please contact Jon Erik via email (jonerikschreiber@gmail.com) ASAP – you may also refer a proven singer who might not volunteer themselves.

June 13, 7-10pm - Schubert Mass No. 2 in G (D.167)

ABOUT THE SCORES
For the Schubert Mass in G, we are primarily using the G. Schirmer (Parker/Shaw) edition. If you already have a score, bring it and use it. You can purchase one from your local vendor or from an online vendor like SheetMusicPlus, for about $6.50 plus shipping. The edition we are using is based on the Breitkopf and Hartel edition, which you can print as a free, public domain score from IMSLP. Having one printed at FedEx costs about $5 plus the hassle.

Otherwise, published/printed scores will be available for you to borrow at the Summer Sing when you sign in, but you may practice with the free downloadable score. Review and rehearsal aides available on YouTube and on Cyberbass.

ABOUT THE SOLOS
The Schubert features a few solos and ensemble work – yet nothing for the Altos … sorry Altos. There will be only one brief rehearsal beginning at 6:00 on Tuesday, June 13 – just an hour before the Sing begins. If you know the solo parts, please contact Jon Erik ASAP (jonerikschreiber@gmail.com).
